Speaker 1:

Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the year, not finished podcast. My name is Brittany Franklin. I'm the host of this podcast, and I am excited because if you didn't know already, the month of may is mental health awareness month. And in honor of that, as well as celebrating me finally graduating with my psych degree this past weekend, I'm doing a giveaway to give you some practical tools that have helped me on my mental health journey and that I hope will better your daily life and mental health as well. Before I give you details, I wanna reintroduce why enough to those who may not know what it's about? So for now you're not finished. It's a podcast that provides information, help, encouragement and resources, which integrate mental health and Christian theology for the purpose of helping others and contributing to the end of stigma in the church. And in general, that being said, I won't always be talking about Christianity because I'm fully aware that the Bible doesn't have all of the answers regarding mental health. And I'm also fully aware that the mental health field doesn't have all of the answers regarding Christianity and spirituality, but anything I talk about will be supported by previous and proven research as much as I can. I'll be bringing biblical and scientific knowledge together in order to help you guys who are listening, share my personal testimony and journey and walk with you who listen on your journey towards mental health and wellness. So let's just get straight to it. The first thing I'm giving away is a three pack of gratitude journals from a company called pockets. These are pocket size journals that you can carry with you anywhere. So in the event that you're struggling with negative thoughts about yourself or destructive thinking patterns, you can take a second and just write down what you're grateful for in that moment. Beginning to have an attitude of gratitude for all things, big, small, and intentionally writing them out. So you can reference them later is a great form of cell care, and it will change your life for the better going forward. The next thing I'm giving away is a book called atomic habits. By James clear. Now this book is amazing because it encourages you to take small steps in order to develop better habits, which lead to better mental health, better living and accomplishing the goals that you have for the majority of my life. I've been the kind of person who has struggled with wanting to have better habits or being more organized, or I've set a whole bunch of goals and just really struggled with keeping them. But this book has been super helpful and given me practical tools and ideas, that challenge my current frame of thinking and encourage me not to just do better for myself and others, but to adopt the belief that I can and will be intentional about letting go of bad habits and replacing them with good ones. The next thing I'm giving away is a book called all along. You were blooming thoughts for boundless living by Morgan Harper Nichols. And this is just a collection of encouraging poems and beautiful artwork that you can reference. Anytime you need a reminder to be gracious to yourself through your mental health struggles or life journey. And it's also a reminder to be open to receiving grace from God and others on hard days, you may be having along the way. The last thing I'm giving away is just some you're not finished merch. So I'm giving away a medium size tote bag, a key chain, and a few stickers that you can give away to your friends and loved ones, or you can keep them for yourself. If you want to completely up to you, keep in mind, I'm not sponsored by any of these people or companies, nor am I partnering with him on this. These are just some excellent tools and resources that I believe in that are helping me along my journey, and that I'm sure we'll do the same for you. I also don't just want, you're not finished to be a podcast and you listening to me share stories and give information or anything like that. I wanna become someone who actually gives you practical and tangible tools in order to help you along the way. So because of that, this is actually gonna be a consistent process. Me doing giveaways. Firstly, if I get to 500 followers by the end of this month, I'm gonna do another giveaway in the month of June. But even if I don't get to 500 followers, I'm gonna do giveaways every few months or as much as I can do them depending on my financial circumstances, but definitely every few months, for sure. So again, regardless of whether I hit 500 followers at the end of the month, I'm gonna go ahead and do these giveaways every three months so that you can have a chance to have something in your hands that you can reference in order to help you on your mental health journey. So all you have to do to enter this giveaway is follow me on Instagram at Y N F cast like the giveaway post and comment three hearts on the post. So I know you're a real person and not a bot. The winner of the giveaway will be announced next mental health Monday, May 16th. And after the giveaway, we'll go back to regularly scheduled programming with episodes of year not finished cast. And speaking of that, there will be an episode that comes out later this month for mental health awareness month. So that's basically it. If you need any additional resources for mental health addiction and suicide prevention, head over to www dot year, not finish.com and click the get help section, if you wanna share your story or journey as someone with a diagnosed mental health or mood disorder. And you're okay with that being shared publicly or anonymously on the Y N F website in order to help and encourage others. Shoot me an email to you're not finished gmail.com or you can contact me through the website, make sure you follow me on Twitter at YN finished and again on Instagram at Y N F cast in order to stay up to date on the latest episodes and for more encouraging content. And please don't forget to rate the podcast on apple and Google podcasts. If you love it. Thank you so much. And I appreciate you for listening. Have a great day. Good luck and finish. Well, bye.
